As of today, the Highland Central School District has used three (3) emergency/snow days of the seven (7) that were allotted this year in the school calendar. At the Board of Education meeting on March 18, the Board approved the following plan to return the unused emergency/snow days to our students and 10-month faculty and staff:
- If we do not use any remaining emergency/snow days before the upcoming Spring Break, we will return the four (4) days on Friday, April 11, Monday, April 21, Friday, May 23, and Tuesday, May 27.
- If we use one of the remaining emergency/snow days before the upcoming Spring Break, we will return the other three (3) days on Monday, April 21, Friday, May 23, and Tuesday, May 27.
- If we use two of the remaining emergency/snow days before the upcoming Spring Break, we will return the other two (2) days on Monday, April 21, and Friday, May 23.
- If we use three of the remaining emergency/snow days before the upcoming Spring Break, we will return the other day on Friday, May 23.
- If we use all the of the remaining emergency/snow days before the upcoming Spring Break, there will be no days returned to the calendar.
During the week leading up to Spring Break, more information will be communicated confirming where we stand regarding the above.
