Board of Education Petitions Now Available

Petitions for nominating candidates for the office of the Board of Education for the Highland Central School District (HCSD) are available at the Central Office beginning March 10, between the hours of 8 AM- 4 PM, Monday through Friday, except for April 21, which is 5 PM.

The following vacancies, which expire on June 30, 2025, are to be filled:

  • Term of Jeanine Gemmell
  • Term of Tom Miller 

The term of office is for three (3) years. In order to be considered as a candidate, the individual must be 18 years old, a registered voter in the HCSD and able to read and write. They must also have been a resident of the District continuously for one (1) year prior to the election (May 20, 2025).

The completed petitions, with the signatures of twenty-five (25) qualified District voters, must be filed with the Clerk of the District no later than 5 PM on Monday, April 21. Candidates may submit an email (see below) declaring their intent to run and to request a packet. Only the original petition is accepted and must be received by 5 PM on April 21 (only original completed packets will be accepted).
